THE YOGA BODY CHECK *

Often just little adjustments can lead to greater quality of life: Workshops focussing on the shoulders, back and hips show us how we can systematically improve our flexibility in the yoga class.

A muscle test and a postural analysis give you the motivation you need to make a change. Yoga offers a broad palette of methods for strengthening the nervous and cardiovascular systems: from deep relaxation through to resistance training by holding the asana postures.

Through the yogic breathing exercises you can increase your life energy. Yogic techniques for organ cleansing (Kriyas) make it easier to detox the body. In the cooking workshop you will learn energy-giving vegetarian food combinations.

YOGA RELAXATION DAYS

Gentle yoga classes for all levels create the basis for health and strengthen the nervous system. The causes and effects of stress are discussed in a workshop. Using various meditation exercises, relaxation is slowly transformed into inner harmony. Enjoy a peaceful yoga vacation in the mountains.
“During a yoga class the rhythmical alternation of stretch and relaxation progressively relaxes the tense muscle and activates the parasympathetic nervous system, creating a sensation of relaxed well-being.”

YOGA, MIND AND BRAIN *

The relationship between brain and consciousness is a fascinating topic of modern brain research. According to the experience of the yogis, mind and thoughts exist as subtle realities. Brain and nerve functions are the physical counterparts. In this seminar, we will look at the nature of consciousness and explain the yoga model, according to which we are manifold reflections of one cosmic reality which can be experienced through introspection and meditation. The practice consists of gentle yoga classes for all levels, various yoga techniques for controlling the mind, exercises in self-observation and self-realisation.

THE YOGA WORKSHOP SERIES

Spend a week loosening, stretching and strengthening the muscles.

Daily workshops look at the main aspects of the yoga class in depth: muscle relaxation in the relaxation pose (Savasana) through autosuggestion; enhanced flexibility of the spine and limbs through specific stretching in the asanas; strengthening of back and abdominal muscles for improved posture; specific asana cycles for the flexibility of hips and pelvis and for strengthening shoulders and chest.
Increased vital capacity through deep breathing: on the basis of abdominal breathing and full yogic breathing you will be introduced step by step to the classical pranayama techniques, which lead to improved energy resources for both body and mind.

YOGA - THE ART OF LIVING

Science is discovering that the nervous and endocrine systems influence human emotion.
Yoga acts upon these systems in a positive way. The in-depth practiceof asanas is a time-tested way of developing a new awareness of body and mind. Becoming conscious of our thoughts and practising methods of non-aggression enable us to shape our relationships in a positive way.

THE WORLD OF SOUND

The ability of the asanas to sensitise us to sound is obvious at the end of every yoga class.

This seminar offers an introduction to the meaning and pronunciation of mantras. Workshops and group practice introduce us to the meditative chanting of mantras. The singing of classical Sanskrit Bhajans (songs) is a proven technique for opening the heart. Lectures will give insight from both the East and the West into the healing power of music on body and mind.

“Sounds are vibrations. They give rise to definite forms. Each sound produces a form in the invisible world, and combinations of sound create complicated shapes. Mantra repetition awakens inner spiritual strength.” Swami Sivananda
