An introduction to classical Indian music with Raghunath Manet

 

Including 2 classes of 90 minutes, with 45 minutes of theory and 45 minutes of practice.

 

This course is an invitation to gain a deeper understanding of the healing power of sound and rhythm with a very gifted indian artist. Raghunath is also a very enthusiastic and energetic teacher. Classical Indian arts are his passion. He will share his deep love and understanding of the power of devotional music and dance to open the heart and put us in touch with the Divine.

 

Course topics:

  • Introduction to classical Indian music
  • How to understand the melodies – “ragas”
  • The power of rhythm – “tala”
  • Expression of devotion in Indian music and dance
     
Raghunath Manet

Raghunath Manet

is an exceptional artist. He is a world famous Indian classical musician/music composer and dancer/choreographer born in Pondicherry. He is a Bharathanatyam dancer and a Veena player.

Raghunath Manet has performed all over the world including at the Opera de Paris in France, as well as at prestigious festivals all over the world. In 2017 Dr. Manet received the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award presented by the President of India, recognizing Dr. Manet’s contributions promoting Indian arts and culture in France.
