This course shows how to effectively and safely integrate older people into a basic asana class. In addition, asana class models specifically for seniors are practised and explained.

  • Warm-up exercises for people with restricted mobility
  • Asana variations for people with limited flexibility
  • Special care for the back
  • How the proper diet improves digestion and relieves joint pain
  • The triangle of life and the eternal youth of the soul

 

 

Swami Ramapriyananda

Swami Ramapriyananda is a student of Swami Vishnudevananda and director of the Sivananda Yoga Retreat House. She is a very experienced teacher who pays great attention to detail and conveys a natural spirituality.

  • 8 – 9:30 pm Evening meditation, mantra chanting and course meeting

 

Saturday and Sunday, 22/23 February

  • 6 – 7:30 am Morning meditation, mantra chanting, talk
  • 8 – 9:45 am Asana and pranayama class
  • 10 am Vegetarian brunch
  • 12 – 2 pm Course lecture/workshop
  • 4 – 5:45 pm Course-related yoga class/workshop
  • 6 pm Vegetarian dinner
  • 8 – 9:30 pm Evening meditation, mantra chanting, talk

 

Departure day, Monday, 24 February

  • 6 – 7:30 am Morning meditation, mantra chanting, talk
  • 8 – 9:45 am Course-related yoga class/workshop
  • 10 am Vegetarian brunch
  • 11:30 am – 1 pm Course lecture/workshop and leave-taking
  • Departure from 1:30 pm or continue your yoga vacation

Accommodation and meals are in the non-smoking eco-hotel serving wholesfood organic vegetarian meals.

All guest rooms have wooden floors and furniture, health mattresses, shower, toilet, hairdryer, telephone and radio. Most rooms have a balcony.

A meditation pillow for the morning and evening meditation sessions is recommended. A meditation shawl is also advantageous.

To practice the yoga poses you will need a non-slip yoga mat or wool mat. You will need a blanket to cover yourself at the end of the yoga class during the so-called final relaxation.

Pillows, shawls, blankets, mats and much more can be purchased in our online shop or in our boutique after arrival.

For your stay you should bring comfortable clothing, slippers, walking shoes, rain gear, torch (flashlight) and towels. Eyeglass wearers should bring a hard case for safe storage during the yoga classes.
