What is Carnatic music ?
One of the oldest living music systems in the world, Carnatic music finds its origins in the Vedas, the sacred scriptures of India.
Carnatic singing is a form of meditation, it focuses the mind, opens the heart and puts you in touch with the pure Bhakti tradition of India.
The course gives a sound foundation and a good introduction to Carnatic singing. It gives an opportunity to start a journey in experiencing the complex system of music in a simpler way through Bhakti.
Each class will inlcude 30 minutes of therory and 60 minutes of practice of carnatic singing.
You do not need to know indian music nor have prior knowledge of singing to join the course.

- Understanding the history of Music
- Music as a mode of Bhakti Yoga
- Concepts of Raga(melody) and Tala (rhythm)
- Bhakti Yoga through Composers and learn a song
- Theory notations and recordings are provided
Bhavana Pradyumna
is from Bangalore, South India and lives in Paris with her family. She has a Masters in Carnatic Music. She is the Founder President of the Conservatoire Carnatique de Paris. She is also a yoga isntructor. She has given carnatic music workshops across Europe and India. She is the author of several books on carnatic music
