Correct alignment is based on a specific set of actions, which are the same for all Asanas. These physiological facts will be explained with PowerPoint presentations and then experienced in Asanas of the Sivananda practice system.
The lower extremities, including:
- Pelvic Integrative Alignment
- Correct foot placement
- Safe alignment of the knees and basic therapy
- Correct Sitting posture
Shoulder Alignment and Mechanics, including:
- Anatomy of the shoulders
- Mechanics and step-by-step alignment of the shoulders
- Prevention of shoulder injuries
Neck and Upper back Alignment and mechanics, including:
- Chest/ shoulder girdle orientation
- Review Shoulder Alignment
- Thoracic extension
- Alignment of arms, wrists and hands
Spine Alignment, including
- Curves of spine
- Development of curves
- Lumbar curve (egg-sized curve)
- Lateral curves, Scoliosis
