Meditations from South Indian Temples
You can experience traditional temple ceremonies (pujas) with the priest Yagneswara Dixit from Bangalore, India, several times a week in a live streaming.
The pujas purify the spiritual atmosphere with special colors, sounds and gestures (mudras).
This creates an intense meditative mood.
Yagneswara has been trained in the practice of these venerable ceremonies and mantras since childhood. The meaning and pronunciation of the mantras and verses (slokas) are also explained and practiced, such as the Shanti mantras, Dhyana slokas (Gajananam), the Arati and other Vedic chants.
The word “pūjā” is Sanskrit and means awe and worship. In a puja, light, flowers, water and food are symbolically sacrificed as an introduction to an inner, spiritual experience.
The recitation of Vedic mantras is considered to be the oldest unbroken oral tradition in the world.
